What documentation to prepare
Nearly every program asks for the same package: a clinician letter describing the functional need, one or more itemized contractor bids, and proof of home ownership or landlord consent. Assembling that once makes each additional application quick.

Will Medicare pay for a stair lift with a doctor's prescription?
No. A prescription does not change the classification. Original Medicare covers durable medical equipment used inside the home, and stair lifts are treated as a modification to the home itself.
