About Home Access Advisor
We exist because home accessibility is one of the few large purchases most people make without a price list. Our job is to give you the numbers, the trade-offs, and the questions before you sign anything.
What we do
Home Access Advisor researches the products and projects that make homes work for life: stair lifts, home elevators, accessible bathrooms, beds and transfer aids, ramps and entryways, and whole-home aging-in-place planning.
Most of this industry sells through local dealers who quote in person. Published prices are rare and list prices are often meaningless. We collect installed pricing from dealer quotes, contractor interviews, and homeowners who share what they actually paid, then publish the ranges in plain language.
Who we write for
Adults researching modifications for aging parents. Homeowners who intend to stay in the house they have. Caregivers coordinating a hospital discharge on a deadline. People with mobility limitations who want a home that fits how they live now.
We write about independence, not decline. You will not find fear-based marketing, clinical language, or the phrase "the elderly" on this site.
What we are not
We are not a contractor, a dealer, a manufacturer, or a healthcare provider. We do not install products, and we do not provide engineering, medical, legal, or construction advice. When a decision involves personal safety or structural work, we tell you which professional to bring in.
